It is normal for many of my mornings to be filled with something cat. I usually awake and sit up in bed and the 2 cats lying on my table and chair on the opposite side of the room stare back at me with deadpan eyes. Sometimes they wake me up whining to get out. Sometimes there is this horrible smell that fills the room and I cannot help but realise my dreams don't really stink tt bad. And sometimes, I wake up to the sound of click-clack on my window sill.
And it's not raining that makes it worse.
Midnight never did this before, but Mittens is like, the pioneer cat for window sill catwalking! And it seems her fearlessness takes her beyond the extent of the window overlooking 24 floors, 'cos 2wice i found her traversing the ledge of the upper windows! And amazed as I was to see my little kitty accomplish such a great feat, I hyperventilate and go on the verge of hysteria when i jump on the nearest chair and though precarious, I gingerly grab her hind legs so she won't back up into thin air and quickly arrest her front paws. Then still picturing her slipping out of my hands or forcing herself away from my arms, I either call for help if anyone else was around, or I immediately work her around the grilles and bring her into the safe zone. And then I hug her real close until she struggles free or until her heart slows. But i think I hug her for my own assurance.
Midnight was not this nuts! Well he had zoomies and tree climbing fetish for a while when we still brought him down to run ard, and now he's ever so intent on marking his territories outside our flat. He's boring... Mittens, however, is the total opposite, picking fights with him or going on little football runs batting wads of paper or climbing to the highest section of the hse or getting our attn. Maybe 'cos she's still scrawny and 4-mths-ish tho we've had her since May. hmm...
She is cute when she sleeps, just like all cats, but doesn't start when awakened like Midnight does. Oh, another comparison is he's 70 cm + frm head to tail while Mitten's body is my forearm length. And she's still so skinny, I think she may have been premature at birth, hence the ugly odd shaped face. Her ears are huge, eyes unnaturally big and yellow like Gollum (tts why mum hates her), nose and mouth tiny but vacuums up food in no time. Ohh what a cutie!
That time when mum threatened to have her thrown out, I rather had HER thrown out. Mittens may hv been undeserving to stay in our hse, but so was Johan. And by depriving her of a home, anyone could easily send her to SPCA, in which case, we would have doomed her, 'cos a recent newspaper report confirmed my fears tt they would put to sleep the animals within the mth of receipt. And SPCA had 200 coming in every mth. Imagine the culling going on thr. Tts why I ridiculed her idiotic ideas.
