Jefferson Bethke wrote a poem on why he hates religion but love Jesus. Shot and edited by Matthew Roberts of http://cikproductions.com/.
Uploaded on YouTube in 10th Jan, I think this man has made all the clearer what religion has always been: man-made feature to fill the spiritual void in man's life. It says worship this, do good things, practice new rituals to become pure. We've had the one man, Jesus, all along, so why go and change things to what does not fulfil and satisfy?
Snippet of his poem:
Religion says "DO", Jesus says "DONE".
Religion says "SLAVE", Jesus says "SON".
Religion puts you in bondage, but Jesus sets you free.
Religion makes you blind, but Jesus makes you see.
That's why Jesus and religion are two different clans...
Religion is man searching for God/god, but Christianity is God searching for man.
Wow, what assurance. If i'd done a poem i think ppl wud be more confused. Good job.
You can compare religion with Christianity and say, hey, Christians actually practice a faith and so they are considered religion. But what sorta' religion wud hv a God who says you can have eternal life if you just come and acknowledge me, the only True God, and Jesus whom I sent (John 17:3). No, dun nd to do any charity or any volunteer work because you cannot be saved by that anw (Ephesians 2:8-9). Confess of your disobedience/sins/ignorance and ACCEPT that Jesus died for you. Why he came was for you! (1John 1:9)
